Enforcement

The guidelines for EPWP students come into force from the date of registration for the programme. These guidelines are applicable to all students, without prejudice to any actions/decisions already taken in the previous Academic Year as also without prejudice to any special rules framed or to be framed in regard to library, computer centre, etc.

Registration

New students are required to indicate their acceptance of the provisional admission by paying the prescribed fee as specified in the admission letter and submit the original documents /certificates for verification. However, at any later date if it is found that information supplied/provided by the student was false, the student will be expelled immediately forfeiting the fees paid till that date. Such students will not be given any certificate indicating completion or partial completion of the course.

After registration, students are permitted to access the Academic Information System (AIS) at XIMB web site through username and password which will be provided to each of them individually. All information / notices for the students will be conveyed through the AIS notice board. The students should check their grades also through the AIS. Please note that students are required to give their feedback on AIS after every term for all the Faculty Members teaching in the term.


Re-registration is subject to the commencement of the subsequent batch, the number of terms, courses, its contents, availability of the necessary infrastructure etc., and such admission into the next batch is solely under the discretion of the institute. The student will have to pay Rs. 5000/- per course along with a rejoining fee of Rs. 5000/-, provided all the instalments were duly paid in the previous batch.

Curriculum Design

Courses in the programme are designed to provide basic conceptual and analytical knowledge, and inculcate attitudes and skills necessary for managerial effectiveness,

The EPWP consists of 10 courses @ 16 hours per subject conducted on a fortnightly basis. A term will consists of two papers and after the completion of a term, End Term Examination would be conducted on the following Sunday with an interval of 30 minutes between each paper.

On Campus Program:

Students will be entitled to receive the Certificate only if they have completed the on-campus programme satisfactorily.

A student, who does not complete the on-campus programme satisfactorily, will not be eligible to receive the Certificate. The cases of students not able to participate in on-campus programme will be decided by the Coordinator and Dean (Academics).

Attendance

The Institute attaches great importance to punctuality and regular attendance of all class sessions. The guidelines mentioned below will be followed in all courses. However, depending on the nature of a particular course, the faculty may follow a suitable attendance policy, which may deviate from the following guidelines. But in such cases, the policy shall be announced to the students at the beginning of the course and communicated to the Dean’s Office by the faculty concerned.

It is mandatory for the students to be regular and punctual in all the classes without exception. Individual faculty members may, at their discretion, assign some weightage to attendance and class participation in the evaluation of the course, in such an event, absenteeism on the part of the student may adversely affect both the components, namely, "attendance" and the consequential "class participation", if any.

Students should ensure that the attendance requirements, as stipulated in this section, are met no matter whatever may be the other compulsions.

In any course, the student has to maintain a minimum attendance of 75 % to be eligible for appearing in the end term examination.

Grading System

An eight-point grading system is used to evaluate courses. The 8 grades and their corresponding quality points are given below:

The Institute follows relative grading of students. The students are evaluated on a grade point (quality point) from 0 to 8 as well as classified into letter grade from F to A+. The equivalence of grade point and letter grade is as follows:

The faculty concerned is required to give details of grading pattern for his/her course.

A student is required to achieve at least a CQPI of 3.5 at the end of the programme to be declared successful.

Examinations

The end term component is a must for all in order to complete the course.

End term Re-Examination is permitted only under exceptional circumstances and for those students who cannot take the regular end term examination. No request for further change of date of examination will be entertained.

Students should report at the examination venue at least 15 minutes before the scheduled time. Mobile phones (even in switched off condition) are not allowed in the examination hall. Students must not refer to any book, paper or other notes, unless it is an open book examination.

If a student is not in a position to take an examination for reasons beyond his/her control, s/he should inform, in writing via email or letter to the coordinator and obtain his/her permission for holding a re-examination. If a student has missed an end-term exam as well as the supplementary end-term exam the students transcript will carry a ‘I’ grade for those courses.

Every faculty will indicate the components for evaluation in the course outline at the beginning of the course. A student who needs clarification on course components shall directly discuss with the faculty concerned through email or telephone or in person to get clarification. The marks / grades of tests and other assignments will be communicated to students normally within 30 (thirty) days. The XIMB office may also be contacted by e-mail for any queries.

Grievance Resolution

Any student having a grievance may apply to the Coordinator individually through email/ written letter.

Academic Discipline

The Institute attaches great importance to integrity, honesty and discipline. A sense of responsibility and a high degree of maturity are expected from all the students inside or outside the campus as befits responsible corporate citizens.

Fees

The total Course fee of Rs.1 lacs + Service Tax @ 10.3% can be paid in three instalments.

Defaults in Payment of Fees

A student will not be allowed to take the end-term exams, if the student has not paid the Institute's fees or if taken, the results will not be released until all the dues are fully paid. S/he will also be denied access to institute’s resources like AIS etc., and not allowed to attend the classes in the present term unless and until the dues are fully paid with fine. The fine amount will be specified by the institute.

A student will not be awarded the Certificate, if all dues and fines are not cleared, even if all academic requirements are fulfilled.

Breaks / Rejoining

In the event of a student being unable to continue in the program because of some temporary exigency, the institute at its discretion, not as a matter of right, may allow students to take a break from the program with prior permission from the Institute.

Award of Certificate

At the end of all the terms, the Faculty Council of XIMB will award the Postgraduate Certificate in Business Management to those students, who have fulfilled all the conditions and requirements for the award, and who have been approved for the Certificate.

Placement

There will not be any campus recruitments or placement services provided by the Institute.

General

The Administration of XIMB reserves the right to change requirements for admission or graduation, content of courses, fees charged, awards and regulations affecting students, or make any other suitable modification including manual of policies, should they be deemed necessary in the interest of the students, the Institute or the profession.

XIMB also reserves the right to discontinue the programme at anytime. In such events, XIMB assures and gives the undertaking that arrangements will be made for the students already enrolled in the programme till such a period to complete the course at XIM Bhubaneswar or at some other alternative place. All disputes are restricted to Bhubaneswar jurisdiction.
