Data Management(chapter 4) 5. Modelling and model management (chapter 5) 6. Constructing a DSS (chapter 7) 7. Organizational DSS (chapter 8) 8. Group DSS (chapter 9) 9. Knowledge Management (have to look from other sources) 10. Brief primer of Decision Support Technologies with emphasis on real life applications: Decision trees, case based reasoning, multiple criteria decision making, neural computing, fuzzy systems, data mining technologies (have to look from other sources) The textbook prescribed is a 1995 edition. This is the latest copy available in XIMB library currently. Most of these topics may be updated/enriched by looking in to more latest material. For topics which are not available in the text, the faculty member's knowledge/experience and/or other sources may be used. Some books on DSS are available in XIMB library. They can be searched with the keyword "Decision support" in our library online database. New books can be bought with advance notice, so that they are available during the beginning of the course. Thirty hours divided into twenty 90 minute slots are available for teaching for full time MBA students. For the Executive MBA students, the same is divided into fifteen two hour slots. The evaluation criteria for the course should include at least three components, of which the end term is compulsory and should carry 35-50% weightage. The faculty may decide on the exact evaluation criteria. The pedagogy may include case studies apart from class lectures.
