Infrastructure Finance & Risk Management

(Infrastructure Development, Advisory & Finance)

Importance of infrastructure for development cannot be overstated. The most glaring example is India, which is in gross deficit of Infrastructure. Further the Infrastructure in India is archaic and inefficient be it in any form; Road, Rail, Port, Airport, IT & Power as also the Education, Healthcare & Tourism (these three can be considered as part of Infrastructure). Investment in infrastructure will continue to be funded through the Budget. However, there are many infrastructure projects that are financially viable but, in the current situation, face difficulties in raising resources. It is proposed that such projects may be funded through a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV). The SPV will develop, funds, operate, manage and maintain can also can borrow from banks and financial institutions.

Post Graduate Students need to develop broad idea of Infrastructure (planning, development, financing & implementation) understand Government Policy, Planning and challenges.
