1. Course Description

Globalization has brought about international scope as a part of day-to-day operations in organizations. International practices, trends and benchmarks have impacted all forms of management including human resource management. This course primarily focuses on the international aspects dealing with human resource management. Cross-cultural trends and patterns along with international staffing and recruiting processes followed by repatriation and issues relating to repatriation are one of the major areas of international HRM today. Apart from them, issues relating to the international approaches, systems and processes dealing with training and development, compensation management, performance management and unions are some of the important elements of this IHRM course.

2. Student Learning Outcomes (typically 3-5 bullet points) · Understand how HRM is practiced in globally present organizations
· Learn the major strategic, organizational, operational and functional issues facing global managers with international operations
· Develop working knowledge of contemporary IHRM issues with the ability to apply in real-life situation utilizing case study approaches.
