The objective of the course is to familiarize students on the approaches made for preparing and implementing Information Strategy. As new business models emerge and the competition is hot among the players, the organization that provides the best value for money to the customers win the battle. In this subject through case studies and illustrations it would be explained how IT has enabled such business models to be successful. At the end of the course a participating student would have knowledge on (i) how to integrate business model with IT strategy, (ii) factors that would influence formulation of Information strategy and (iii) implementation of IT strategy.

Who should attend: - Those who have a flair for strategic management would benefit the most.

5. Evaluation

End term – 30%

Major Assignment – 40% Objective: (i) to define Vision, Mission, corporate strategy – 5% (Use Balanced Score Card to define corporate Strategy)

(ii) To define IT strategy (consider alternatives, architecture, technology, organization structure) based on (i), Balanced Score Card and CLASS (from Subroto Bagchi’s book) – 15%

(iii) To define approach for implementation (training, change management, ROI for your approach) – 10%
