1. Course Description and Pedagogy

Course objective

Economic Environment of an Economy is characterized by interacting among systems, firms, the government and other market forces both domestic and international. Some of these interactions are determined largely by the existing marketing structure while others are influenced to a great extent by Government reformulation or properly right and public policy.

Economic decisions in general and strategies in particular are moulded by the Economic Environment. These external factors like the economic, political/ regulator, social, technological and natural factors which make-up the opportunities for and threats to business and internal factors like resources. Capabilities and good will of the organization, internal and power relationships etc. which decides the strength and weakness of a firm. A thorough understanding of the Economic Environment therefore is a pre- requisite for making any strategic decision. Indeed formulation of strategy is sometimes defined as establishing a proper firm environment.


2. Student Learning Outcomes

· Be able to develop an understanding of the complexity of factors in business environment.
· Be able to use appropriate analytical skills, thereby enhance the ability to apply the concepts in solving problems relating to the business environment.
· Be able demonstrate appropriate abilities to integrate knowledge across business disciplines.

The Volume of disciplinary action depends on the gravity of the offence.
