1. Course Description:

Information technology is a critical resource for today’s business. Just like the other type of business resources, this needs to be managed wisely. Information systems, the application of information technology to business problems, are integrated with almost every aspect of business. Business managers need to understand these problems and participate in decisions concerning technology, information systems and their adoption and use. The aim of this course is to prepare students to play the role of a business general manager and participate positively in such decisions.
The course delivery will be based on conceptual treatise as well as case pedagogy. Overall, this course will enable the participants to develop general abilities related to problem identification and solving, along with some formal processes, methodologies, and models.

SUB-OBJECTIVES ADDRESSED THROUGH THIS COURSE:

1.6.1: The students will understand the basic Information Systems such as ‘The Strategic role of Info Systems’, ‘Classification of Info Systems’, ‘Building Information Systems’, ‘Decision Support Systems’ and ‘AI applications’.

1.6.2: The students will propose business process improvements through System Modeling Approaches for the proposed system in different domains.
