1. Course Description

It is well known that globally the volume of available data is growing exponentially over the recent years giving rise to what is popularly known as big data. Given the availability of various forms of data it still remains elusive to get some meaningful outcomes from this leads. We need to think what we can actually do with this huge big data. Organizations strive to obtain tangible value (ROI) from big data projects. Leaders also strive to device successful strategies to deploy analytics tools to transform their organizations. Big Data and Analytics Strategy is indeed about how a winning strategy w.r.t. big data can be developed. Organizations should be geared up as to how to compute the ROI; how to build an effective data team and propose a clear business proposition.

Given the above in the Analytics Strategy course we will learn ‘how to introduce formulation of a winning big data analytics strategy’; ‘how to form questions for big data analysis’; ‘how to pick the “right” data sources’; ‘to distinguish between actionable data and exploratory data’; ‘importance of data visualizations’; ‘role of business advantages of real-time analytics’; ‘big data value delivery and ROI’; ‘rising trends in the wake of a collaborative economy and how to get the best from these’; ‘complexities in of data ownership and development of meaningful privacy laws and rules’.

We will also analyze case studies on organizations that successfully deployed these techniques and tackle two key questions at the intersection of strategy analytics:
