1. Course Description:
The Indian social security system provides retirement and insurance benefits to employees working in factories or other establishments covered by the system, in India. The system is both contributory and non-contributory and seeks to protect a certain type of employees against loss of employment or destitution. This course discusses the entire gamut of laws pertaining to social security, particularly applicable to organised sector.

2. Student Learning Outcomes:

The course will empower the students with knowledge base and skill-sets:
# Develop conceptual perspective on legal aspect of social security as a tool of HRM
# Understand the key provisions of social security legislation which affect businesses.
#Be able to apply the concepts to hypothetical problems.
