Background: Labour Legislations in India can be broadly divided in two broad areas

(i) Rights of Parties Legislation including managing industrial relations
(ii) Norms Legislation & Social Welfare Legislation

Course Objectives: To familiarize the students with Managing Industrial Relations affecting the Indian enterprises both in Manufacturing and Service sector and understanding some relevant labour laws. The norms legislation and social welfare legislation will not be covered.

Course Outcomes

Pedagogy: Lecture discussion, case analysis, study of case lets and analysis.

Evaluation

1. Class Participation (20% Weightage)
2. Assignments (30% Weight age): They may be individual or in Groups
3. Mid Term test (15% Weigtage)
4. End Term Exam ( 35% Weight age)
