1. Course Description: The purpose of the course is to have:
· In-depth understanding of issues relating to designing an effective organization
· To be aware of the practical application of the principles of structuring of contemporary organizations in a complex, dynamic environment
· Develop awareness of the decision making hierarchies, bureaucracy, power and politics.
· Demonstrate knowledge of various organization theories which enable managers to understand, predict, and influence organizational design/structure and development.
· Demonstrate awareness of the complex issues faced by managers in the area of ethics and social responsibility in organizational development.
Link organizational design to global business strategies and practices.

5 Class format


6. Evaluation Scheme

The following would be weight of system of the specific evaluation modality:

a) Quiz =20%
b) Assignment / Group Presentation = 15%
c) Case discussions=10%
c) Personal learning paper = 5%
d) Class Involvement = 10%
e) End-term Examination = 40%

7. Quiz

There would be 1 quiz, consisting of objective type of questions.
Dates will be discussed

8. Assignment

During Session 13 & 14, group presentation is scheduled as of now.

9. Personal Learning Paper

10. Course Involvement

Credit would be given on the basis of regularity of class attendance, participation and initiative.
