1. Course Description

Human Resource Planning is the fundamental approach in human resource management. With increasing dynamics of workplace and demand and supply of talent turning into a virtual talent war, it has become imperative that the human resource demand and supply be adequately understood and the gap identification between this demand for human resources and the requisite supply of talent be undertaken. Organisations across the world are faced with this growing concern on human resource planning, how to ensure that we attract the right talent, recruit the right talent and then build a robust mechanism which would ensure a proper selection process and thereby build a robust workforce and a sustainable talent pool. Therefore planning for the human resource in terms for the needs of the organization and availability of human resource for filling in those needs is an important element of human resource today. Therefore human resource planning has become one of the most crucial building blocks of talent identification and talent recruitment in these times.
This course aims at providing the students a hands-on approach to understanding the basic nuances of human resource planning such as understanding human resource demand and supply, understanding gaps between the both, building greater understanding in designing jobs and more than that attracting the right talent for those specific jobs and more over creating a process and system which will ensure that the right and appropriate talent comes through into the organization and thereafter proper processes are built to ensure that adequate planning in terms of talent management is undertaken with linkages of other areas of human resource management which are impacted by this human resource planning.
