1. Course Description

The course is aimed at enabling the students build confidence in speaking before an audience. The students will be trained in making effective corporate presentation using appropriate technology. Practice sessions on face an interview and participating in group discussions will instill confidence in the students to face their placement process with ease and effectiveness. Sessions devoted to personality development and basic etiquette will further hone the skills of the students for adjusting better to their surroundings and making a positive impression on those who they interact with.

2. Student Learning Outcomes

Students should be able to:

· impress others by one’s skilful use of nonverbal and verbal communication
· develop ability to make business presentations using appropriate technology.
· gain confidence in facing interviews
· learn to participate the group discussions
· acquaint themselves with basics of commonplace etiquette.

I. PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT (4 sessions)
* A prerequisite for effective communicators.
* Confidence building

II. PRESENTATION SKILLS / PUBLIC SPEAKING (4 sessions)
1. with regard to the subject
2. with regard to the audience
3. with regard to yourself
4. managing your audience
5. handling the aids
· making presentations keeping in view the above
· feedback from the instructor and audience
III. FACING INTERVIEWS (AS AN INTERVIEWEE) (5 sessions)
