Career Management, a significant dimension of Human Capital Management, started gaining importance in the mid-twentieth century. Prof Edgar Schein, MIT, The founder of Career Anchors started exploring further in the 1960s. Career management as a practice area has started attaining greater significance globally and more so , the emerging economy, India, in the last decade.
