A. Objective
This course is an introduction to statistics designed for management students. In the rapidly changing business environment it is imperative to have an appreciation of data, its presentation and analysis techniques. This course aims at imparting these skills so that you can make better of use of data in taking decisions.

3,4	Probability and Probability distribution (Normal)
5,6	Sampling and Sampling distribution
7	Estimation
8,9	Hypothesis testing
10	Simple linear regression

C. Evaluation Method

· Quiz (1) – 15%
· Mid-term Examination – 35%

D. Book - Statistics for Management, by Levin R.I, and Rubin D.S. Prentice Hall India
E. Other reading material will be supplied time to time.

POST MID TERM
Operations Research

F. Objective

This section will provide an introduction to Operations Research. The theory will provide an introduction to how Mathematical Models aid in managerial decision making. There will also be a focus on solving practical problem within a management context.
