COURSE OUTLINE
INTRODUCTION :
The success of an organization is a function of its competitive advantage. To that end each one is trying to out do the others by providing more value to the customer at a price at best equal to that of the next competitor. Till 90’s , this effort was limited to activities within the organization. The concept of supply chain management which will be discussed in this course was hypothised in early 90’s.
1. OBJECTIVE :
The course is having the following objectives.
To introduce concept of supply chain.
To develop understanding of its management.
To discuss key factors of supply chain performance
To study in detail , design, planning and operation of supply chains.
