A basic knowledge of Finance is compulsory for aspiring managers, independent of the functional area of specialization. This course on Financial Management is aimed at providing the same. At the end of the course the students should be having an overall idea about why the companies and financial markets behave the way do and should be better equipped to respond to the fast changing dynamics of the business environment.

2. Introduction to Valuation and time value of money(Chapters 5, and 6)
3. Interest rates and Bond valuation( Chapter 7)
4. Stock valuation ( Chapter 8)
5. Net present value and other Investment Criteria (Chapter 9)
6. Making Capital Investment Decisions(Chapter 10)
7. Project Analysis and Evaluation( Chapter 11)
8. Return, Risk and capital market Line(Chapters 12 and 13)
9. Cost of Capital ( Chapter 15).
10. Raising Capital, financial leverage and capital structure policy(Chapters 16,17).
11. Dividends and Dividend Policy (Chapter 18).
12. Short Term Finance and Planning (Chapter 19).
13. Cash, Liquidity, Credit and Inventory Management ( Chapters 20 and 21).

Class tests
Three tests would be conducted on online mode, out of which the best two will be included for evaluation. The dates for the test would be announced in advance.
Assignments
Maximum two assignments would be given to students. Details of the assignments would be announced in due course.
End term
This will be in offline mode, scheduled by the Dean’s office.
