Business Data Communication and Networking

Overview

The objective of this course is to introduce data communications and computer networking concepts (standards, protocols and technologies) by taking practical approach. The course is aimed to provide an understanding of the technical and managerial challenges in supporting electronic commerce, virtual teams, intranets, extranets, remote access, Voice Over IP, internetworking over wide area network (WAN) technologies and effectively managing these complex networks. By the end of the course you will be able to explain how Internet move messages from one computer to another through the different hardware and software components, using a variety of LAN, backbone and WAN technologies and components.
