Overview

This course is designed to familiarize the participants with concepts, skills and knowledge relevant for an entrepreneurial venture. It is primarily designed for those who wish to start a entrepreneurial venture sometime in the near future.
An important part of the course is formulating the business plan and presenting it for critical evaluation in the class. There will be sessions devoted to presentation of business plans.

Objectives:

The course on ‘New Enterprise Management’ attempts to meet the following objectives:

The pedagogy will include a number of entrepreneurial stories. We will discuss entrepreneurs like Ted Turner, Walchand Hirachand, Kiran Majumdar Shaw and many less known entrepreneurs. We will also be discussing the entrepreneurial ventures of PGP from XIM and of other professionals.

Other relevant reading material will be given regularly.

Evaluation:

Business Plan: 30%
Term Assignment: 30%
End Term: 20%
Class Participation: 20%

Attendance Policy:

Content in each session is interlinked with content in other sessions. Participants are expected to attend all classes. All class will begin at the assigned time and participants are expected to arrive on time.
