Course Outline


Objectives:

With the phenomenal growth of information technology, computers have helped all professions in being more effective. However IT plays different role for different professions. One of the key task of managers in decision making in functional spheres of managers. Hence, we use the computer in this course as tools, which help in modeling decision-making situations and provide insight into the complex situations at hand.

We use the popular managerial decision making tools such as spreadsheets, statistical packages to do the modeling.

Further , the students will have to learn about the state of the art in information technology and relevance of the same for organizations working for in decision making.

Pedagogy:

The course will rely on class room lectures for discussion on IT topics, exercises and cases for horning the skills at using computers in decision making situations.

1. Model building and Analysis with Spreadsheets

· Data analysis by using What-If, Goal seek and auditing

Multithreading, time-sharing, Spooling. Disk Defragmentation
