1. Introduction
Work groups and teams are essential parameters of organizational life. Since most of the contemporary organizations are project-driven, the organizational effectiveness is significantly linked with structure, function and strategy of teams. More and more attention is now being paid to the pivotal role of team work. In such a context, the understanding of group dynamics and leadership assumes a great deal of importance.
While the study of individuals in organization focuses on individual parameters, Group Dynamics and Leadership emphasizes the collective behavior. At this level, the examination of group behavior is attempted with a view to understanding the dynamics and facilitating the performance.
2. Objectives
2.1 To acquire an understanding of small group behavior and its impact on the organization.
2.2 To help learners to study structural and functional aspects of work group.
2.3 To develop skills to analyze and observe various facets of small group behavior
2.4 To acquire skills for using tools and techniques for group work and team building.
2.5 To facilitate the understanding and acquisition of leadership quality in the context of work group.

4. Pedagogy
A mix of lectures, discussions, case study and simulation exercise would be used. The emphasis would be placed on experiential methods. Students are expected to participate in group activities. Group assignment forms a key element of the course
