PERSONAL GROWTH LABORATORY

The Personal Growth Laboratory (PGL) is a Human Process Laboratory, which is designed to help each individual to realize his/her own potential growth more fully and to increase his/her ability to work effectively with others in a variety of situations. By learning how to develop effective teamwork, individuals can join forces to bring about organisational and community change and improvement.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

To help the participant gain learnings, understandings, insights, and skills in the areas of Self & Interpersonal Relations, especially to –

Ø Become aware of his/her patterns of behaviour and its impact on others
Ø Recognise own feelings and motivations
Ø Improve his/her effectiveness in interpersonal -interactions by correctly perceiving effects of own behaviour on
others and correctly understanding effect of other’s behaviour on self
Ø Understanding dynamic complexities in group behaviour.
Ø Discover his/her potential to live life meaningfully and -effectively


METHODOLOGY

The primary methodology followed will be T-Group or Sensitivity Training. It will be supplemented by psychometric instruments and experiential exercises which will help participants gain greater insights into themselves and interpersonal processes. A set of theoretical readings will also be provided, which will have to be read during the course. The end term exam will be based on the theoretical readings.

Daily learning log 20%
Personal learning paper 25%
End term Exam 30%
Participation in Lab 25%
