Organizational Behaviour

1. SCOPE: People enjoy learning behavior in organizations. It gives us unique insight everyday processes and phenomena we often take for granted. After all, such knowledge helps us to understand a key part of the world in which we live. Organizational behavior covers three broad areas: the individuals in the organizations, the group in the organization and organization structure and design. We will cover individuals and group in the organizations.
2. COURSE OBJECTIVE:

1. Understanding the dynamics of individual and interpersonal behaviour in organisational setting.

2. Developing students’ knowledge and competence to deal with human problems of management.

3. Developing students’ awareness and insight for personal and professional growth

4.To acquire an understanding of small group behavior and its impact on the organization.

5. To help learners to study structural and functional aspects of work group.

6. To develop skills to analyze and observe various facets of small group behavior

7. To acquire skills for using tools and techniques for group work and team building.

8. To facilitate the understanding and acquisition of leadership quality in the context of work group.

Session 6: Emotional Intelligence

Session 7: Work team

Session 9: Communication in organizations

Session 10: Decision making in groups

Session 11: Leadership and followership

Session 12: Stress Management

Session 13: Conflict and Negotiation in groups

Session 14: Group presentation

Session 15: Group presentation

4. PEDAGOGY:

A mix of lectures, discussions, case study and simulation exercise would be used. The emphasis would be placed on experiential methods. Students are expected to participate in group activities. Group assignment forms a key element of the course
