Objectives

With the phenomenal growth of Information technology, computers have helped all professions in being more effective. However IT plays different role for different professions. One of the key tasks of managers in decision making in functional spheres of managers. Hence, we use the computer in this course as tools, which help in modelling decision-making situations and provide insight into the complex situations at hand.

We use the popular managerial decision making tools such as spreadsheets, statistical packages to do the modelling.

Further, the students will have to learn about the state of the art in information technology and relevance of the same for organisations working for in decision making.

Pedagogy

The course will rely on classroom lecturers for discussion on IT topics, exercises and cases for honing the skills at using computers in decision-making situations.
