PGP 1992 4 Oct 2001: Kaustubh Misra (1992 Batch) writes: I have joined Standard Bank, the largest South African bank, as a corporate credit analyst at their London office from the 1st of October 2001. My job is to analyse European and US Corporate credit issuers. I have been with IFCI since graduating from XIMB in 1992. PGP 1993 ... PGP 1994 4 Oct 2001: Vivek Prakash (1994 Batch) has been appointed as the Quality Leader at GE Capital International Services (GECIS). He has returned from a 1-year stint in the US, where he was a Business Development resource working on Global Relocation (Outsourcing) needs of various GE businesses (Capital and Industrial), identifying work that potentially could move to GE-owned / managed support centers in India / Mexico / China. In his new role as the Quality Leader he will be creating the organizational structure and operating procedures necessary for GECIS to support customer-impacting initiatives. Customers are GE's numerous businesses / divisions spread across the globe. PGP 1995 26 Dec 2001: Anang D. Jena (1995 Batch) writes: I have taken over as the Country Head of the Automotive Research and Consultancy division of Blackstone Market Facts, India. I sincerely thank my teachers, friends, and my institute for this achievement. 2 Nov 2001: Reena Verma (1995 Batch), currently in DSP Merrill Lynch Equity Research, writes: 2001 has been a satisfying year as I got rated by prestigious surveys from a business/research standpoint. I was ranked No.1 for Materials Research in the AsiaMoney Brokers Poll and also rated by the Insitutional Investor Survey. These are annual surveys. May I add, however, these surveys are less important to us than reviews put out by large clients. For example, I've been ranked by Invesco, Alliance Capital, HSBC, UBS, Sanford Bernstein, Citi-SSB. 14 Mar 2001: Bibhu P. Nanda (1995 Batch) was selected as the Best Area Sales Manager at Marico last year and won a 7-day trip to Dubai. He will be moving soon to Hyderabad as the Regional Sales Development Manager for the southern region. PGP 1996 5 Nov 2001: Sohinee Ray (1996 Batch) has received the Citibank Achiever's Award thrice, for her work in the Investment Products Division, Citibank, NA, Dubai. 10 Oct 2001: Vivek Misra (1996 Batch) has secured an admission to The London School of Economics and Political Science, ... [He was earlier with ORG-MARG where his team was identified as one of the four winning teams across the country under the Performance Linked Payment System (PLPS), for the first quarter of 2000.] 24 Aug 2000: M. R. Srinivasan (1996 Batch) has informed that three of our alumni at IBM Global services, Bangalore received awards at the February 2000 award ceremony. They are: R. Chandrasekar (1990 Batch) Corporate Business, M. R. Srinivasan (1996 Batch) ISP & Networking Services Group, and Anand Bharadwaj (1997 Batch) Strategic Outsourcing Group. PGP 1997 25 Jun 2003: Partha S. Mohapatra (1997 Batch) is currently at the University of Kentucky. He is one of the recipients of the 2002 Carol S. Adelstein Outstanding Student Award. The award honors students with disabilities who have inspired the university community through academic achievement, leadership, extracurricular activities or social and personal qualities. Partha is a doctoral student in Decision Sciences and Information Systems in the Gatton College of Business and Economics. 25 Nov 2002: Anuj Malhotra (1997 Batch) was in the team which has won four significant awards for the successful direct marketing campaign for the Children Growth Bond (Part of Safety Bonds) of ICICI Bank. The awards are for both creativity and effectivity: 1. Golden Lion Award (Cannes 2002), 2. Gold - Popular viewers' choice (Effies 2002), 3. Gold - GRAND Effie (Effies 2002), and 4. Gold in the services category (Effies 2002). 10 April 2001: Iqbal Kaur (1997 Batch) has received two performance related awards from her organisation GE Countrywide Consumer Financial Services (subsidiary of GE Capital). These are: (i) Best Operations Executive award for Operation 200 (an inter-region contest for meeting disbursement targets) and (ii) Extra Miler award (for her extraordinary effort and initiative) in the month of December 2000. 24 Aug 2000: Anand Bharadwaj (1997 Batch) [M. R. Anuradha (1998 Batch) writes: I work with Polaris Software as a Lead Business Analyst. Polaris has started an Award for Business Analysts from this year. Business Analysts work with project teams on the functional and business process aspects of a project. The first award of the kind was given to two Business Analysts and I was one of them. What is encouraging about this award is that it is the first time the company has recognised the need to reward non-technical people who contribute to project deliverables. Out of the other Business Analysts in the team who report to me, I have one more from XIMB (Amrita Naik, 2001 Batch) who is also playing a very good role in the project and has received very good feedback from our clients. There are quite a few from XIMB in Polaris and they are doing very well for themselves. 4 May 2001: Sabyasachi Das (1998 Batch) writes from IBM India Limited: Here is a brief about the accomplishments that led to my being nominated to the ASEAN/SA recognition event held in Sydney. The criterion for qualification for the victory fair was meeting 125% of revenue targets. I achieved 258% of my revenue target in year 2000 and that helped me get a seat on the plane to Sydney. What I feel more satisfied about however is the fact that I managed to sell the first IBM eServer in the ASEAN region and was involved in two of the largest deals for IBM India last year. In recognition of "outstanding leadership and excellent performance in 2000", I was presented with the ASEAN/SA Award in January, 2001. 2 May 2001: Sriram Rajan (1998 Batch) writes: Thanks to all the Professors of XIMB, we have been able to face the corporate world with great confidence. I currently work for IBM India Limited as a Business Manager. I had been nominated to the 100% Achievement Club for having exceeded 125% of the targets set out for the year 2000 (Jan 1 to Dec 31). The nomination involved a visit to Sydney for a formal recognition event. 53 IBMers from India went for the recognition event (of a total strength of about 3000). 15 Mar 2001: Bandana Kohli (1998 Batch) has received two significant awards from her organisation GE-SBI. Her team got the Achievers award in the first quarter of 2000 and she individually got the Star of the Quarter award in the second quarter of 2000 (both relating to the GE-SBI Cards business group). 2 Sep 2000: Ramakrishna J. (1998 Batch) recently secured a promotion at Berger Paints, Hyderabad. He says 'XIMBians' are the backbone of Berger! [Ram has moved on to become the Regional Manager, Andhra Pradesh at Goodlass Nerolac, since November 2001.] PGP 1999 14 Mar 2001: Sona Mittal (1999 Batch) is working with Wipro at Bangalore in a project called www.planetservices.com as a module leader. A Month back she recieved an award called Feather in My Cap from her Project Manager and team members. She received a diamond pendant as a gift! 14 Mar 2001: Niladri Bhattacharjee, Abhijit W. Jaydekar, and Jaydeep Roy (all from the 1999 Batch) were promoted as Level 2 Consultants at PricewaterhouseCoopers within a year of joining the firm. PGP 2000 14 Mar 2001: Sankalp Patnaik (2000 Batch) currently posted as Business Analyst, Enterprise Knowledge Management, Polaris Software Lab. Limited, Chennai received the Gem of the Month Award for February 2001 for work done in a project handled by him. 30 July 2000: Amar Pradeep Swain (2000 Batch), Senior Business Consultant, Blue-C New Economy Consulting and Incubation GmbH, Austria, has been featured in an Austrian career magazine (Informationstechnologie: Karriereführer Special, January 2000) as an upcoming architect of the European e-commerce world. [Ein typischer Blue-C Karrierepfad: Einer, der sich für eine Karriere in der New Economy entschlossen hat, ist Amar Pradeep Swain. Der 26-jährige Inder arbeitet als Technology Manager im Wiener Headquarter am Aufbau eines Incubation-Projektes in einem technologieintensiven Bereich. Schon mit seiner Ausbildung hat er die Weichen für seine künftige Karriere gestellt.] [Amar has changed his job and is now working with Deloitte Consulting in Vienna since September 2001.] PGP 2001 17 Jun 2003: Piyush Chowhan (2001 Batch), currently with Wipro, has won an Encore Feather-In-My-Cap (FIMC) Award for his contribution towards the successful implementation of the Warehouse Management System (WMS) application at the Sony Electronics LCD Division. [Last year, he was nominated for a Spot Award for the Transportation Optimization Project for Praxair Inc. He was then the functional lead for the design phase of the project.] 8 Apr 2002: Mohammad Tariq Saeed (2001 Batch), currently with Infosys Technologies, has been awarded the CENA Star Performer Award for Q4: Jan-Mar 2002, in the area of "Initiative and Innovation". CENA (Canada and Eastern North America) is one of the largest Practice Units at Infosys with over 2000 employees. This award is given to "... people who have put in exceptional performances backed by strong testimonials". His achievement is noteworthy considering that it has been less than 8 months since he joined the organisation. 9 Dec 2002: Kali Charan Das and Srichandan Sahu (2001 Batch), currently with Infosys Technologies, have been awarded the The Best Initiative award for developing an application called SPICE (Stock Procurement and Inventory Control Enabler) for the Facilities and Accounts Departments of the company's Bhubaneswar Development Centre. The award was for the quarter July-September 2002. It consisted of a citation and a cash prize of Rs 1000/-. 13 Feb 2003: Khirodra Mishra (2001 Batch), currently with Polaris, was awarded the company's Annual Excellence Award for 2002 in the Customer Service category. He was given this award for successfully managing and co-ordinating project deliveries for one of Polaris' most demanding clients, namely AIG (the largest insurance company in the US). 6 Mar 2003: Stephen Remedios (2001 Batch), currently at Hindustan Lever Limited (HLL), has been awarded the Personal Products Director's APEX Award for Living the HLL WAY in Sales, at the HLL Personal Products Annual Conference in Mumbai. The award carries a citation from the Director and a cash award of Rs. 40,000. PGP 2002 20 Oct 2002: J Annapurna (2002 Batch), writes that her paper coauthored with T V Rao, titled 'An exploratory study of changes in the roles and competencies of top level managers due to 360 degree feedback' has been selected for presentation at the Asian Human Resources Development Conference, Bangalore, 26-28 October 2002. It will also appear in a book by Oxford-IBH publications titled 'Human Resources Development in Asia--Trends and Challenges'. ExPGP 31 May 2001: Sanjay Agarwal (ExPGP 2002 Batch) writes from SAIL: I have received two important awards: (i) Distinguished Service Award in January 2000. This award is conferred on an employee for rendering some exemplary service in addition to the normal job assignments. It is considered to be a prestigious award. (ii) Quality Policy (First Prize): Our organisation is going to formulate a new quality policy for which a contest was held in Nov. 1999. I stood first in that contest and subsequently was awarded cash prize and a certificate in March 2000. |
