Suggestions From Our Alumni |
Ananda Bose 2001 Batch Wipro Limited, Infotech Group | My suggestions may seem like rocket science at the moment, but just like the XIMB Intranet page this could also help the Alumni page into becoming an integral part of our lives: 1. Make an alumni portal, password protected of course. 2. Use the egroups for alerts only and don't send large mails across. 3. Paste Region-wise/Profession-wise listings on the site. 4. If possible, use a chat machine also and get the Director to speak to Alumni at times or even allow alumni to chat with the students. If there are technical issues, I would be happy to help. A Response by Badrinath Singh (2001), Satyam Computer Services Ltd.: Some of us are definitely willing to take this up as a project. What we could do is lay out plans for this alumni portal... and divide work and make it operational. I am sure there will be other alumni ready to go in for it. Technical expertise of all alumni in their respective fields could be used. Sir, could let us know your opinion about it... we are willing to help... tell us know the problems you are facing... |
Ranvir Pasayat 2001 Batch | The project I am working on is related to derivatives trading. The electives I had taken in finance and systems are of immense help to me here. I wish I could go back to XIMB and attend those classes again! I've already started missing XIMB so much. I now realise the importance of each and every elective I took there. |
Santosh K. Panigrahy 1999 Batch Asst. General Manager Reserve Bank of India | An important area where I believe some focussed attention can be given is Management Development Programmes (MDPs) for industry and govt. sector, which will further enhance the good image of the institute. May I request one and all to focus on this front please? Personally I have been greatly benefited from XIMB and large part of this is attributed to the faculty and I am grateful for the same. |
Badrinath Singh 2001 Batch Satyam Computer Services Ltd. | I talked to some alumni in Hyderabad and we all agreed that the faculty of XIMB and the alumni group could help each other. Alumni on their part could help the faculty with their research work and the faculty on their part could help the alumni in their requirement for particular information. Faculty could post questions on a predesignated webpage of our XIMB website and the alumni would respond to these as and when they come across the answers. This would be similar to the process followed for answering student queries on the X-post. The alumni group could also post topics, documents, URLs, and other material related to the hot topics they come across in industry. Faculty could help the alumni best by building up a knowledge bank on the subject which they teach and do research on (this should be done by hosting these material at the website). This in return could be made available to the alumni group, which they could refer as and when they need to know something, e.g., an alumnus working as a Systems Analyst may refer to finance related topics... |
