XIMB RANKED 9TH IN THE BUSINESS INDIA B-SCHOOL SURVEY-2002
Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) has been ranked 9th in the Business India B-school Survey – 2002. Business India conducted the survey along with Mumbai-based research agency MaRs Pvt. Ltd. The survey has pointed out that “despite serious faculty shortage in numbers and also quality”, the top notch B-schools have remained steadfast against all market odds. Citing the example of XIMB it writes, “Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB), one of our top-rankers, which despite its locational disadvantage has a faculty of 28 with 15 PhDs.”

The Survey says that institutes “are also investing heavily in Internet connectivity – taking it to even students hostel.” It is worth recalling that XIMB pioneered in providing such a facility way back in 1998 not only to the students’ hostel, but also to the faculty residences. The Institute has both a well-developed infrastructure and a highly qualified and committed faculty to impart management education, conduct management development programmes and contribute through research in the field of management.

Commenting on the Business India Survey – 2002 ranking, XIMB Director Fr. E. Abraham said, “I am happy to see that our Institute has retained its 9th position in the country this year too. Well, with the quality of our faculty, staff and students, and the state-of-the-art infrastructure, we certainly deserve to be among the best 10.” He believes that XIMB has immense potential to excel and improve the ranking in future.
