HOME | CURRENT | ARCHIVES | FORUM | ANNOUNCEMENTS About the Journal Research World is an open-access publication, aimed at research students in a broad range of disciplines and fields. It serves two main purposes: It publishes easy-to-read material that is relevant to research education; it also serves as a structured space where research students can practise academic writing and receive editorial advice. The publication exists to supplement the efforts of institutions of higher learning in developing the desired skills and attitudes among research students. On the whole, Research World seeks to be a preferred avenue for research students where they learn about the world of research and start interacting with a broader community of peers, in their journey of developing the researcher identity. Since the publication is targeted at doctoral students, articles focusing on the learning needs of doctoral students will be given priority. Articles on Research Experience Critical reviews of research experience are published in this section. Articles focusing on various stages of research can be included, exploring the dilemmas faced by researchers and the options available for dealing with those. Such reviews would focus on avenues for developing research competencies. Seminar Reports Reflective reports on research training seminars are published in this section. Reports on any other type of research education events can also be considered for this section. Idea Watch This section contains article reviews. The review needs to include a summary and assessment of the article, situating the article within a research area, describing its contribution, and drawing out implications for researchers and professionals. It should be written for a broad range of readers, not necessarily working within the same research area.
