Organisations are increasingly realizing that their people are one of the most important resources they have. Moreover, this is a resource that has near unlimited potential.
This course is intended to provide course participants with an introduction to the field of Human Resources Management and its importance as a supporting function in assisting the organization to meet it’s strategic goals. The interrelationship between the various human resources functions is a central theme. Students will learn theories and applications involved in effectively managing people in organizations. Emphasis is placed on developing relevant problem solving and critical thinking skills, as the basic concepts of HRM and the skills developed in this course are applicable to all types of organizations and jobs in which students will eventually work.
