1. Why should I study a PGDM (Part Time) programme
It provides a platform for growing up the corporate ladder which is not possible without a robust business management academic programme offered by a leading business school of the country. Without a PGDM programme, the career progression gets stunted. This PGDM (Part Time) programme provides enough space for a student to pursue his education while working and thereby provides the best value to the students.
2. Why should I study this PGDM programme at XIMB?
Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar is one of the best business schools in India and pioneered the Part time executive PGDM programme in 1993 and has been delivering valued academic delivery in this area for the past 16 years with more than 3600 alumni. Its programmes are approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), Government of India, accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and internationally accredited by SAQS Accreditation of Association of Management Development Institutions in South Asia (AMDISA).
3. How many hours would be study in this programme through how many terms of study?
You would study about 27 to 28 months spread across 8 academic terms of three months duration each. Each term would have 15 weekend classes and one weekend of end term examinations. The total contact hours are 930 hours which has been reduced from the previous 1050 contacts hours. In this admission year, one term has been reduced, effectively reducing 9 terms to 8 terms and thereby also reducing the programme fees by the absence of payment of one term.
4. Would the faculty members teaching regular PGDM students at XIMB also teach me in this part time PGDM progamme?
Yes, the faculty members teaching regular PGDM students would also be teaching you in the Part-time PGDM programme.
5. What is the minimum eligibility for applying to the 3 year Part-time PGDM programme at XIMB?
5.1 A three-year recognized Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in any discipline;
5.2 At least three years of experience in executive capacity in an organisation of repute in the public, private or non-governmental sector. Self-employed persons with minimum of 5 years experience after obtaining qualifying degree can also be considered;
5.3 Age limit: Should have completed 24 years as on 1.7.2012.
6. What is the application procedure for this programme?
Take a printout of the application form available with the brochure. The filled-in application form should be submitted to the Admissions Office of XIMB, along with the original counterfoil of the bank pay-in-slip after depositing the application fee of Rs.1000/- (non-refundable), in to the XIMB Account No. 30834687536 from any core branch of State Bank of India.
7. What are the application fees for this year?
It is Rs.1000/- (non-refundable)
8. What is the selection process to be followed after the application is submitted?
The final selection will be based on the candidate's past academic performance, relevant work experience, and performance in the interview. The communication skills of the candidates as well as commitment to completing the programme would also be evaluated.
9. When will I be called for the Personal Interview?
In the month of March, 2012.
10. Can I request a change in my Interview location after I am shortlisted?
Yes, depending on the avaiability of dates at various centres.
11. When will the results of the selection process be announced?
The results would be announced in the first week of April, 2012.
12. What is the admission process?
The candidates who are selected for admission to the programme will have to indicate their acceptance of the admission offer with related conditions, by paying the first instalment of the fees as stipulated in the letter of admission. The Programme will begin around first week of July 2012. At this time the students will be given a Manual of Policies and Regulations, which will be binding on them.
13. Are there any published policies for students that we have to adhere to?
XIMB provides a Student Manual of Policies (MOP) which is binding on the students who take admission in the respective programmes. It provides details of various aspects of student life along with the rules and regulations embedded in the system of operations.
14. Do you also provide accommodation on weekends for students who want to avail them?
Yes, we also provide accommodation on weekends for students who would like to avail them.
15. What is the total accommodation cost for the students?
It is Rs. 17000 per term. For the total programme it amounts to Rs.136000 (Rupees)
16. What are the placement facilities that XIMB would provide to me on successful completion of this programme.
XIMB has not provided placements for the PGDM (part time) students so far.
17. Is any financial aid/scholarship available for this programme?
We do not have presently any scholarships for Part time PGDM programme.
18. Are Bank Loans available for financing this study?
Yes, you can explore for Bank Loans and XIMB would provide you supporting documents such as your offer of admission and statement of expenses to facilitate the process of obtaining the Bank Loan.
19. Are we eligible to become alumni of XIMB?
Yes, you are eligible to be alumni of XIMB and would be a part of the Alumni Association of XIMB.
